Reporting

Projector offers an enormous amount of functionality for driving your day-to-day business operations. But at the end of the day you also have a need to look back over operations and get a look at the big picture. Projector reports are where much of this information is derived from. Analyze hundreds of data points, roll up months or years of operations data and quickly get a look at your organizations past health, current health and future positions. Then use Projector's report scheduling and distribution features to keep your entire management team in the loop and projects on target.

You can run reports from either Projector Web or Management Portal.

This page and the children pages detail permissions, report types, file types, and web services. To run actual reports please see the links above.

Additional Resources

The Topic of the Day: Reporting Overview webinar is a great resource to learn all about Projector's reporting engine.

In Topic of the Day: Advanced Reporting webinar, we look at some advanced reporting techniques within Projector, including reporting web services.

The Report Customization Webinar, is a workshop on report customization techniques. In the webinar we walked through the process of creating custom reports that can be used on a reoccurring basis.

Every once in a while, Microsoft will change its default handling of macros. When this happens, reports may just not work, you may not be able to make any edits, or you may just be really annoyed that you need to click through a bunch of security warnings every single time you open a report.

You should check out this documentation for potential resolutions: Excel Security

The general MS page about Microsoft blocking macros more aggressively can be found here. This is also something that could potentially be handled at the group policy level by your IT team (when it comes to trusting macros).

Permissions and Settings

The Reports topic is accessible from all users in Projector except Client Users.

Although anyone can run a report, they'll come back empty if you don't have permission to access the underlying data. This section details for each report type the permissions you need to run and retrieve data for each report type.
