Before delving into the specifics of rate management, it is helpful to understand a few key concepts. More details are covered in later sections.

  • Rate CardsRate Cards contain a list of titles and hourly rates associated with each title and can be linked to cost centers, clients, and projects. When linked to a cost center, the rate card defines the standard rates for all engagements associated with that cost center. When linked to a client or project, the rate card defines the contract rates that have been agreed to with that client for that project.
  • Resource Direct Cost CardsResource Direct Cost (RDC) Cards contain a list of titles and hourly costs for each title and can be associated only with cost centers. The resource direct cost cards reflect the average hourly cost for resources in that cost center by title. Most organizations define their resource direct costs as the annual hourly salary plus benefits divided by the typical working hours per year. However, each organization may have a different definition of resource direct costs that it wishes to use in Projector.
  • Time Cards – Time cards reflect data either imported from the Time Entry application via web services or entered directly into Projector's /wiki/spaces/docworkspace/pages/10330963. They represent a unit of actual hours worked for a single resource on a single project on a particular date. The revenue amount on each time card defines the system revenue and system rate for that unit of work.
