How do reports handle things like a resource that moves from one location to another or who gets promoted? 

 

Projector tracks a resource’s history over time by storing an “effective date” for each change that is made. That is, a resource may start off as a consultant and be promoted to a senior consultant effective Jan 1, 2013. If you run reports that span Dec 2012 into Jan 2013, you’ll see the title, bill rates, and RDC rates associated with that resource’s title of consultant in 2012 and you’ll see those attributes changing after the resource got promoted in 2013. Similarly, if you’re running aggregated reports of utilization, revenue or profitability in 2012, that resource will be contributing to the consultant department and title in 2012 and the senior consultant department and title in 2013.
