Preview / Re-Render Invoice

Invoices can be rendered in PDF, CSV, and Excel formats. Most organizations choose PDF. Preview an invoice at any time and Projector generates a file based on the current invoice contents. Once the invoice is issued we'll save and store a permanent copy on our servers for audit trail purposes. Even if the invoice is later deleted we retain this copy.

A robust templating engine creates fully customizable invoice templates. The engine can modify stock templates provided by Projector or create fully custom, professional looking template tailored to meet your business needs.

Permissions and Settings

Anyone that can open an invoice can preview it.

When an invoice is issued we save a copy of it for audit trail purposes. Even if the invoice is later deleted we still have this copy. These copies do not count towards storage limits or incur storage fees. When you preview the invoice we send this stored version.

Invoices can also be uploaded to Project Workspaces. If you upload your invoice into a workspace then it does use workspace quota and incurs storage fees.

Editing information on the Invoices - Billing Details tab passively triggers a re-render.

You can force a re-render from the Manage button. You should only need to re-render invoices if something about your own business details change. Here are some examples,

  • an invoice uses template A200. You change the A200 to show an additional column. You may want to re-render your invoices to also include this additional column
  • you update your /wiki/spaces/docworkspace/pages/10322008 and want the invoices to show these updates

To re-render an invoice you need to be an approver or have the void/delete cost center permission:

Projector includes the following stock invoice templates:

  • A100
  • A100C
  • A100D
  • A200
  • A300

Legacy Invoice Templates

If you are a client since before Feb-2012 then your installation will include legacy report templates. These reports use the naming convention 1A, 2A, 3A, etc. These old templates cannot be edited, nor can you create new templates based on them. This is because they were created before users had access to the reporting engine front end.
