Warning - Projector could not connect to the server to check for updates

When launching Projector you may receive the following warning message - Projector could not connect to the server to check for updates.

This error occurs when Projector's servers are inaccessible to your computer. This can happen for several reasons.

Solution 1

Check that your internet connection is working. Can you reach http://www.google.com? If you cannot reach Google, then you need to fix your internet connection before you can use Projector.

Solution 2

Can you access Projector's servers? Try to visit http://www.projectorpsa.com. In the top right click on login and connect to the employee portal. If you cannot log in then please check with your IT group or Projector administrator to find out why Projector is inaccessible.

Solution 3

If you are running antivirus software with a built in firewall, check that Projector is allowed to access the internet. At the time of this writing, only McAfee appears to block Projector by default. If you are unsure if your firewall policy is the problem please check with your IT group.
