Data Extraction

When your business needs change or when you are acquired, you may find that you want to discontinue use of Projector. We are sad to see you go, but happy to assist you in extracting your data from our system. Below you will find some paths that organizations find have worked best.

Microsoft SQL Backup

You can ask us to produce a MS SQL Backup file. This backup file contains all of your Projector data as well as files like expense receipts, invoices posted to workspaces, issue documents, workspace documents, and resumes. The SQL backup can be restored to a SQL Server database and data may then be extracted by a knowledgeable SQL user. The files are made temporarily available on a secure website, and then removed once you have them. The backup will be as of the previous weekend. For example, a backup made today would contain data through last weekend. If you have terminated your instance of Projector then the backup contains data through the day you stopped using our service. There is a one-time charge for each data extract produced. Your sales representative can explain the costs.

Reports

You can run Projector reports (for free!). The following are typical reports you would run. Depending on the size of your organization and how long you have been a Projector client, you may need to export the data in anywhere from six month to two year intervals to avoid running up against size limits in reports. We recommend CSV files as they are the most compact export form and are generally well supported for import into other systems.
